I am working 10+ hours per day for a while at the board of elections logging in signatures for the amendment to do away with gerrymandering. With the passage of it we can actually get our democracy back and have our vote count. We the people will be able to select our Representatives and Senators instead of them choosing us. Lets all citizens of Ohio–Democrats, Republicans and Independents– get out and vote to do away with gerrymandering once and for all. If you have any question about if you are registered to vote, contact your local board of elections and if you are not, ask for an application to register. Do it now. Politicians want us not to vote; it helps them to stay in power. Finally, ask your local board of elections the name of your Ohio Senator and member of the Ohio House of Representatives. If we do not know their names how can we hold them accountable. They are counting on this. Ash yourself this: How is it that they passed an extreme anti-abortion bill and signed by our governor; so extreme that a little 10 year old girl was and raped had to go to Indiana for an abortion. Remember Senate Bill 5 passed by our Republican controlled General Assembly and signed by our governor–you know the one we the people got rid of; the one that basically denied teachers, firefighters and law enforcement personnel from being able to negotiate raises and benefits. The people virtually all of them got returned to their jobs in the General Assembly. How do they get to do this? Two reasons; gerrymandering and most of us do not know who they are and what they are doing. So, they toil away passing bills presented to them written by ALEC, benefitting the rich and big business and ignoring we the people. Time to vote them out.
