Hey! Lets burn some books! What do you say?! Remember Hitler and the Nazis burned any book that questioned war. One book burned/banned in Germany by the Nazis was All Quiet on the Western Front by Eric Remarque who was a decorated German soldier during World Wat I. He escaped to Switzerland and subsequently wrote more World War II books which did not glorify war. Remember J D Vance called Trump America’s Hitler? Well

Trump wants to eradicate DEI throughout our country and I cannot understand what is so objectionable. Diversity refers to the different ethnical and cultural differences in our country. What is so bad about that? Equity…we should all be treated equally–that is right out of out of our Constitution and finally inclusion. Do we really want to go back to Jim Crow times? Trump and the Republicans want to eliminate all references to anything that is not White, Christian Nationalist, and Male. References to the first woman member of our air force Thunderbirds was scrubbed from view. Later, after complaints, it was reinstated. In Arlington National Cemetary information about Colin Powell and Tuskegee Airmen was eliminated. Our tin foil hat incompetent head of our Department of Defense had all books with any reference to anything closely resembling references to DEI be removed from libraries at our Army, Navy and Air Force Academies. The Handmaids Tail and I know why the Caged Bird Sings were among the removed. I have read both of these and I do not understand why hey wee removed. I read them and have not become demented! But get this: Hitler’s book Mein Kampf is still on the shelves. I guess being exposed to Hitler and Nazi ideology is just fine! Our former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff launched a blistering attack on this book banning. Our men and women at the academies are capable of examining all information and drawing conclusions. These young people are very intelligent and do not need to be protected by our government. But Mein Kampf is just fine!!! Realty?! Now states are banning books even though 71% of our population opposes this banning. Texas has banned 438 books, Floraida 357, Missouri 315, Utah 109. The total banned is 1477 at this date and growing. Who is doing this banning? Is it state legislators and have they read each of these books? I do not need to be protected by people who feel that they know what is good for me or you. Who are they and why do they think I need protection? Hey! Want to ban books? How did that work out for Hitler. As J D called him, America’s Hitler need to reconsider banning books.
