For as much as you have done it to the least of these you have done it unto me (Matthew 25:40). For quiter some time the Republican party has taken from the poor and given it to the rich. Lets be clear; the rich do not need help. Trump’s big beautiful bill kicks off more than 7 million people on Medicaid and causes them to lose insurance and reduces food stamps recipients This in addition to the attack on our institutions by DOGE is an attempt to reduce spending on the most needy and give trillions of dollars in tax breaks to the very rich, ultra-rich and large corporations. The Republicans in the US House voted for this bill. The most important thing to these Republicans is to get re-elected and not to incur Trump’s ire and have Musk primary them. They do not care about their constituents; just getting re-elected.
Who is your state Senator any your House representative–not in the US congress but in your state legislature, These people receive bills written by extreme organizations and present to the state legislature. It is the 80/20 rule/ Present 80 bills and maybe 20 will pass and what gets passed? In Ohio we had Senate Bill 6 which eliminated the right to negotiate and strike for teachers, police and fire. The votere seriously opposed this and got it repealed. After Roe v Wade was overturned the reactionary Republican Ohio General Assembly passed an extreme anti-abortion law which was opposed by an overwhelming numbers of voters. It was so extreme that a 10 year old Ohio girl had to go to Indiana for an abortion. Ohio’s Attorney General said he did not believe this and when faced with the facts never apologized. Ohio voters passed an amendment to the Ohio Constitution to allow abortions. After this behavior these legislators were still returned to their places in the General Assembly. How is this possible you might ask? Simple; First Gerrymandering ( often they run unopposed dure to the impossibility of an opposing party to win the seat; so they do what they want to do or mor often what their rich donors ewant), Second big business and rich supporters finance their campaigns and finally-they fly under the radar–voters do not know who their representatives are and they are not held accountable. What to do? First, contact your local board of elections and find out who your Senator is and who your representative is. Contact them and tell them your feelings; find out their voting records, and go to town halls. Write letters and send emails. Call them. If you don’t like what they are doing vote against them and campaign for their opponent.
