Trump announced that we are going to restart nuclear testing which we and no other country except North Korea has done since 1990’s. Russia has tested a nuclear powered missile and drone. This is not testing nuclear weapons. Trump said he would direct the Department of “War” (defense) to restart nuclear weapon testing but it is not the Defense Department that tests weapons; it is the Department of Energy. The Energy Department was confused by Trump’s off-the-cuff statement about restarting. It takes several years to begin testing. Typical Trump’s ignorance is demonstrated here. He says other countries are testing–a lie–only North Korea is testing.
