Columbus City Schools

The Columbus City School System must cut $50 million dollars out of its budget. The Ohio Constitution requires our legislature to fund public education in Ohio and not to fund non-public schools and voucher schools, yet our Republican controlled state legislature has ignored our constitution and given in the 2025 budget $1 billion dollars to nonpublic schools-clearly in violation of our constitution. If the $1 billion dollars was put into public schools probably Columbus City Schools might not have had to cut $50 million dollars out of its budget and would not have to fire teachers, administrators secretaries, custodians etc. Our children are our future and we can provide for our future by providing a quality education for our students. These cuts became necessary and do not help our students. We need to hold our legislators accountable. Right now our Republican controlled General Assembly does whatever they want and what their wealthy contributors want them to do. If you are tired of a General Assembly that does not follow our constitution and ignores what we expect, then vote them out. Contact your local board of election and find out who your representatives and senator is. Let them know how you feel and vote accordingly.
