The emoluments clause in our constitution is found in Article 1 Section 9 and Article 2. It states that no elected official and in particular the President shall not receive gifts, payments, or advantages from a foreign power or entity or someone or institution of any kind within the United States without the approval of Congress. Of course this does not matter to Trump. When he was sworn in as President, he swore to support and defend the Constitution. This was his first lie of his second term as president. He had no intention of following this; he intended to be a dictator and in fact he said as much when he said that he would be a dictator on day one. He is a convicted felon. What did we expect of him. He does not support the Constitution and in fact sees it as standing in his way for whatever he wants to do.
