Around the world massive data centers are springing up all over the world–some bigger than Manhattan’s Central Park says Agnee Ghosh in Bloomberg. They are being built for AI. They can use about 530,000 gallons of water per day and enough electricity to power 750,000 homes. Consumers are footing the bill. U.S. wholesale ,electricity is up 267% higher than 5 years ago. What if the AI bubble bursts? Nobody is willing to admit that building these massive warehouses might be an overshoot, either economically or ecologically. Some communities are experiencing brown outs now. We the average people are footing the bill.
