This is an incredible book about the earliest life on earth to us now. If you do not want to read all; of it, at least red the epilogue. The epilogue identifies animals that went extinct and others that were near extinct. From the Industrial Revolution, smoke and fumes from coal burring factories has been affecting hurting the atmosphere. The climate and the whole planet is being affected. The seas are warming and polluted by plastic and poisonous waste. Human beings are part of the complex community of life and we depend on it for all the food we eat and all the air we breathe. Our health and survival depends on the health of our planet. The dinosaurs were here for millions of years and in comparison we have been on earth for a very brief time but we are polluting and contributing to climate change. We may be destroying our very existence. We must wake up and protect our planet or we could become extinct and be replaced by other organisms or even possibly robots. Attenborough’s Epilogue is something we all should read.
